GV II

House. c1858, altered. Brown brick, with sandstone dressings
and graduated slate roof. "Regency" Tudor style. Single-depth
rectangular plan at right-angles to street.
EXTERIOR: a gabled one-window facade with oversailing
bargeboarded verges (now lacking finial); one 3-light wooden
mullioned casement window on each floor, that at ground floor
taller and transomed, both with raised sills and run-out
lintels with hoodmoulds, and narrow lights with horizontal
glazing bars. Side wall chimney to right (reduced). Right-hand
return wall has rebuilt lean-to porch in angle.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
Forms group with No.43 adjoining to left (qv). No.47 adjoining
to right is not included.
