Fern house. Probably c1876. Red brick in English garden wall
bond, whitewashed glass roof. Long rectangular plan on
north-south axis.
EXTERIOR: single storey. Very plain east wall with plain
doorway at each end, and a series of stone brackets shaped
like rainwater hoppers.
INTERIOR: not inspected, but noted as very fine, the walls
covered with rustic pumice stone arranged as grottoes, with
inset rockery stone, mirrors, pools etc to form a suitable
setting for rare ferns.
