Gate posts and gates at main entrance to Botanic Gardens.
Probably c1876. Cast-iron posts and wrought-iron gates. Set of
6 octagonal posts (the outermost attached to the projected
bays of the lodges), forming a carriage gateway and 2 flanking
pairs of pedestrian gateways (of unequal width in each pair);
wrought-iron pedestrian gates, but carriage gates now missing.
Forms group with No.1 Lodge (qv) and No.2 Lodge (qv); and the
whole set forms a group with the Museum (qv) to the north.
