Pair of houses. Probably late C18; altered. White painted
roughcast probably on brick, slate roof, brick chimney.
Single-depth 4-unit plan formerly partitioned 3 plus one but
now 2 plus 2, with added outshut to front of fourth unit, and
C20 additions to rear.
EXTERIOR: single storey; 2 plus one windows, all C20 3-light
casements. Doorway of No.42 next to outshut. Ridge chimney at
former junction, gable chimney to left; raised coping to
right-hand gable.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
Forms part of group of similar houses on this road, all
variously altered but representative of the pre-industrial
character of this area.
