Lime kiln on foreshore of china clay port. c.1820s (shown on 1843 tithe map). Slatestone rubble plus granite keyblocks to round arches of entrances. Square plan with 2 working chambers with half-dome vaults. The top of the kiln is approached from a bank to the north-west and a ramp from the south-east. Part of a group of structures relating to the use of this former china clay port, which was developed between 1818 and 1826 with a horse tram-road completed in 1829 which linked it to St Austell.
