Drinking fountain

II

Drinking fountain, on the corner of Old London Road and
Patcham Bypass. Dated 1897. Grey and pink granite. The
fountain takes the form of a central basin set in a panel of
pink granite, flanked by dog- and horse-troughs; above the
troughs are console scrolls and above the central section a
pedimented gable, with a pulvinated frieze inscribed 'IN
MEMORIAM', the pediment carrying the date flanked by the
initials JG.
