Terraced house, now offices. c1825. Probably designed by Amon
Wilds and Charles Augustin Busby. Stucco to ground floor,
stock brick in header bond elsewhere; stucco dressings.
Gambrel roof of slate.
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys with attic and dormers over half basement.
3-window range. The basement through second floor treated as
full-width segmental bay, the top of which is enclosed by a
balustrade to form a porch for the attic storey. Stairs up to
flat-arched entrance with overlight set to left party wall;
entrance framed by Tuscan pilasters and entablature. Ground
floor treated as chamfered rustication with 2 windows to side
of entrance. All windows flat arched, those to first and
second floors with architraves, each first-floor window
having, in addition, an entablature. Sill band to second
floor. Dentil cornice to top of bay. Entablature to attic, the
parapet partly gone. First-floor balcony with cast-iron
railings. Stacks to party walls.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
Railings to stairs and area, the latter interrupted by a
round-arched entry in the right-hand quadrant of the bay.
Nos 20-31 (qv) form a group.
