Villa. c1831. By William Thomas. Pinkish-brown brick in
English Garden Wall bond with painted stucco facades to front
and side, Welsh slate roof and cast-iron verandah.
2 storeys; 2-window range. Front, garden facade has slender
giant Tuscan pilasters to angles. Plate-glass French casements
with divided overlights beneath verandah with elongated scroll
motif. First floor has 6/6 sashes in plain reveals and with
sills. Frieze, pediment. Side and roof stacks.
Entrance to right return, 3 steps to part-glazed, 3-panel door
with overlight, within surround of Tuscan pilasters, frieze,
cornice and blocking course. Similar giant Tuscan pilasters to
angles.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
HISTORICAL NOTE: Beauchamp Avenue was laid out as Beauchamp
Terrace c1828-31, most of the north side built by 1838.
