Terrace of 3 houses, now shops with flats and storage over.
Numbered right to left. c1814-1836 with later additions and
alterations including extensions to rear, and mid-C20 shop
fronts. Pinkish-brown brick with painted stucco front facade,
Welsh slate and concealed roofs with cast-iron balconies.
3 storeys, 6 first-floor windows. First floor: six 10-pane
French windows with margin-lights in plain reveals. Second
floor has 3/6 sashes in plain reveals and with sills. Moulded
cornice, blocking course. Ground floor: glazed doors in glazed
shop fronts. Tall stacks with cornices to right of each house.
First floor has continuous Carron Company
double-heart-and-anthemion motif balcony.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
HISTORICAL NOTE: Regent Street, originally known as Cross
Street, was laid out c1808-1814, but the first buildings in a
terrace development date from 1814.
