Terraced house. c1825, currently undergoing restoration. Amon
Wilds and Charles Augustin Busby. Stucco, roofs obscured by
parapet.
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys and attic over basement. 3 windows each.
Round-arched entrance porch, now boarded over, to return
facade. To the left of this a round-arched niche. Entry to
No.51, round-arched with fanlight and hood moulding of
rusticated voussoirs and keystone. Verandah to first floor of
both units, with fragments of cast-iron railings and
stanchions; curved metal roof. Verandah on first floor of
return facade, intersecting a first floor segmental bay, with
tripartite windows. All windows are flat-arched. There is an
entablature to the second floor of No.51; No.50 has a more
elaborate cornice on the second floor. The attics to both have
a cornice and parapet. No.50 is surmounted by a balustrade.
INTERIOR: remains of original cornice work and other details
to ground-floor rooms; the interior was severely damaged by
conversion into a nursing home in mid to late C20, and, more
recently, by squatters who destroyed cast-iron stair rails and
other features.
