COMBROOK

Pair of houses. c1870. Possibly by John Gibson. For Compton
Verney estate. Rock-faced stone with ashlar dressings; tile
roof with large cross-axial stack with buff brick shafts.
2-unit plan.
EXTERIOR: single-storey with attic; symmetrical 2-window
range. Coped gables. Entrance to each end has
segmental-pointed arch to recess with inner entrance.
Ground floor has rock-faced relieving arches over single
chamfered cross-mullioned windows with decorative glazing with
elongated octagons; similar attic windows in gabled
half-dormers; returns have cross-mullioned windows, the right
return with single first-floor lights.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
