Includes: Red Lion Court Nos.1-5 (Consecutive) WARWICK ROAD.
House, was public house, converted back into 5 houses in
August 1994. C17 with later alterations and additions. Lias
limestone rubble refaced with scored stucco and with brick to
rear; steeply pitched slate roof with brick end stack,
cross-axial stack and return lateral stack. L-plan.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys plus attic. Symmetrical 3-window range
with further single-window wing breaking forward to right
under hipped roof. Entrance has doorcase with consoled open
pediment to 6-flush-panel door. 2 canted bay windows have
cornices over sashes; first floor has 2-light and flanking
3-light leaded casements; hipped roof dormer has 2-light
casement.
Wing has canted entrance to corner behind anta, flanking angle
pilasters, frieze and cornice. 3-light casement to each floor,
that to ground floor boarded, that to first floor with leaded
glazing. Similar windows to right return.
Rear has brick platband and 3 ranges of outbuildings forming
courtyard; brick with tile roofs, that to street is stone with
alternate narrow courses and hipped tile roof; end with part
of wall rebuilt in breeze-block and C19 projection with
entrance and 3 sash windows.
