House and former shop. Mid C18 refronted c1820. Brick laid to
Flemish bond with buff headers; slate roof with brick end
stacks. Single-unit plan plus 2-unit plan.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys; symmetrical 3-window range with central
forward break; single-window shop range to left. Reeded
first-floor sill course and top cornice. Entrance has doorcase
with pilasters, lion masks and bracketed open pediment-hood;
fanlight with decorative glazing bars over 6-fielded-panel
door in fielded-panel reveals; Enriched boot scraper. Windows
have sills, and rusticated wedge lintels with key blocks over
8/12 sashes to ground floor, two 8/8 sashes to first floor
with painted blind window to right.
Former shop has top dentilled brick cornice. Shop front has
reeded pilasters and undulating entablature with flat
modillioned cornice over entrance with overlight with
decorative glazing bars to paired half-glazed doors; flanking
half-bow windows with small-paned glazing over flush panels.
First floor has window with sill, and rubbed brick flat arch
with key block over 8/8 sash. Right return has continued sill
band with brick flat arch over 6/6 horned sash to first floor.
Rear reported as having datestone of 1753.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
A good example of a Georgian shop front.
