Farmhouse. C16 with C17 and C18 alterations and additions.
Timber-frame with brick infill, and brick, some laid to
English bond; old tile roofs with stone end stack with brick
shafts and brick cross-axial stack with diagonal shafts.
2-unit plan plus cross-wing to left with single-storey rear
wing.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys; 2-window range. Segmental-headed entrance
to right of wing has lean-to canopy; entrance to right of
centre has timber lintel, both with renewed half-glazed doors.
Ground floor has central segmental-headed window with 3-light
small-paned glazing with iron opening casement; similar
glazing to hipped bay window to right end; first floor has
small square window to left end with small-paned glazing.
Wing has exposed timber-frame and large ashlar external stack
with fillets to brick shafts, flanked by one uPVC windows to
ground floor to right and left, and with first-floor 2-light
leaded casement to right. Gabled roofs. Right gable end has
large first-floor window and single-storey gabled range.
Left return has 3-light leaded casement and canted bay window;
first floor has 3-light casements, one small-paned, and gabled
roof dormer; rear wing has 2-light leaded casement and
entrance with wide-boarded door with strap hinges.
Rear of main range has central entrance with gabled porch and
plank door; segmental-headed window to each side with 3-light
casements, that to right small-paned with iron opening
casement; 2 small windows to first floor with 2-light
casements, one leaded and one small-paned; single-storey range
to left has entrance and shuttered window; cross-wing has some
framing visible over wing; large external stack with diagonal
shafts, gable carried down to left over small square light;
wing with entrance with plank door and 3-light small-paned
casement.
INTERIOR: has exposed beams and flag floors; central room has
large fireplace with chamfered bressumer, and timber heck
partition to left; room to left has C16 ashlar fireplace with
moulded opening, some brick and beam above; room behind with
heavy plank door with battens.
