Marraway Farmhouse

GV II

Farmhouse. c1830, rear possibly earlier. Double-depth plan
with rear wing. Brick with ashlar and stucco dressings; hipped
slate roof with brick stacks.
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys; symmetrical 3-window range. Georgian
style. Round-headed entrance has fanlight to panelled door and
Tuscan porch. Windows have sills, and rusticated wedge lintels
over 12-pane sashes, those to second floor with 6-pane sashes.
Returns have 2 sashes to each floor, the left return with one
ground-floor 16-pane sash.
2-storey rear wing has 2 gables flanking narrow gabled infill
over entrance recess, with doors to back and one side;
segmental-headed windows with cross-casements or 3-light
transomed casements to rear and returns of wing, some with
leaded glazing.
