Paper mill, now house. Late C17, believed to be on earlier
foundations, with range to rear early C19, and renovations and
conversion of c1980. Blue lias stone to ground floor
surmounted by timber-framing and plaster infill, and reddish
Bidford brick to upper stage of range to rear, decorative
club-tile roof.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys with attic, 3 cells. Small square
timber-framing. Entrance to gable end with a C20 plank door,
with window to right; tripartite window to first floor and
further window to gable; C20 casement windows throughout.
Modillion eaves cornice. Ornamental ridge tiles.
INTERIOR: 3 queen post trusses, partly concealed, and 2 king
post trusses, partly cut through, one of which is to gable
end. Exposed timbers; chamfered beams, joists. Remnants of
mill machinery include pulley block and irons for sluice
gates.
The mill is shown on a map of 1725. It finished use c1920.
