The Tudor Guest House

GV II

House. C16 with C17 and later alterations. Timber-frame with
plastered infill; gabled old tile roofs with brick cross-axial
stack. 2-unit plan plus double-gabled cross-wing to right end.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys; 5-window range. Jettied cross-wing with
later supporting posts; gables with C19 bargeboards and
finials. Entrance to left half of wing has C20 battened door
with flanking leaded lights; entrance further left has C20
half-glazed door.
Window to left end has 3-light small-paned casement with iron
opening casement; window to left of wing has C20 3-light
leaded casement; similar 4-light casement to right half of
wing. First floor has 3 windows of differing sizes with
2-light small-paned casements with iron opening casements;
wing has 2 larger windows with similar 3-light casements.
Close-studded framing to ground floor and to right half of
first floor of wing, also to first floor to left end; the
rest, including gables, is square-framed with slender
scantlings.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
