Terrace of 5 houses. Late C18/early C19 with later additions
and alterations including extensions to rear. Reddish-brown
brick in Flemish bond with gabled Welsh slate roofs and brick
stacks. 2-unit and single-unit plans.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys; 9 first-floor windows arranged 2:2:1:2:2.
5 entrances: C20 board and glazed doors except to Ivy Cottage
which has 6-panel door with 2 glazed lights, all in moulded
wood frames.
C20 mainly casement windows throughout, those to ground floor
of Ivy Cottage have flat arches of voussoirs with keystones,
otherwise with wide cambered arches. 4 right first-floor
windows under elliptical arches with hoodmoulds. 2-course
first-floor band to Abbeville and The Shieling, otherwise
first floor projects slightly to right houses. Brick dentilled
eaves cornice throughout. Ridge and end stacks.
INTERIOR: exposed beams and joists to most ground-floor rooms.
