02/08/72 Binton Hill Farmhouse

GV II

Farmhouse. C18 with C19 alterations and additions. Coursed
blue lias rubble with brick dressings and brick additions;
renewed tile roof with renewed brick end stacks.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys plus attic; symmetrical 3-window range
with single-storey service wing to left with end stack and
smaller further addition. Top brick cornice. Entrance has
architrave and door with 2 fielded and 2 flush panels; trellis
porch. Windows have segmental brick heads over 3-light
transomed casements. Gabled roof.
Wing has 3-light small-paned casements and stone gabled
projection in front of lateral stack, possibly a bakehouse,
with door in plank gable.
Rear has 2 hipped single-storey wings, one a garage with
paired doors; re-entrant entrance to wing.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
