GV II

House. c1684-94 with extensive early C19 and C20 alterations
and restorations. Painted brick with timber-framing to right
return and rear; machine tile roof with brick end stacks.
L-plan.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys; symmetrical 3-window range. Modillioned
brick cornice. Entrance has flat canopy and C20 glazed door,
and is flanked by C20 bow windows. First floor has 2 windows
with 3-light small-paned casements flanking blind window.
Left return has late C20 gabled wing with weatherboarding over
small-paned French windows.
Rear has single-storey C20 flat-roofed addition with gabled
bay to right. Long wing to left is a former brick and
timber-framed thatched barn incorporated in house; some
exposed wall studs and framing, and tile roof with gabled
dormers.
Right return, facing churchyard, has timber-framing to gable
wall and section of timber-framing to centre of rear wing.
