House, formerly The Railway Tavern)

GV II

Former public house, now subdivided into houses. Probably C18,
with C19 and C20 modifications. Local stone rubble, Welsh
slate roof between coped gables, the subsidiary blocks to west
having plain gabled clay pantiled roofs, brick end chimney
stacks.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys with attics, 5 bays, then single and 2-bay
single storey extension. Plinth. Sash windows of 12 panes with
timber mouldings to exposed sash boxes, timber lintels,
entrance in bay 4, with boarded door on heavy frame, with
timber hood on brackets.
Added door to No.33B to right of bay 5, part glazed, sharing a
matching hood with the 6-panel door to No.33C, which is in
first single-storey extension, next a 20-pane sash window,
over which are two 12-pane sashes in pitched roofed dormers,
matching 2 dormers, over bays 2 and 4, to the main block.
Second extension has a 12-pane sash window, set lower, and a
4-pane window, with a pair of boarded garage doors on the
extreme right.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
