Farmhouse, now dwelling. Probably earlier C18; altered.
Roughly-coursed mixed rubble with quoins, the front painted
white and the left (west) gable wall roughcast and painted;
roof of graduated green slates with stone-slate eaves course
and stone riggings. One-and-a-half depth 2-unit plan.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys, 2 windows, almost symmetrical. The ground
floor has an asymmetrically-gabled porch (extended to the
right) with a square-headed doorway under a projected lintel,
a board door, and a ball finial inscribed "1847", a square
12-pane sashed window to the left and a rectangular 9-pane
sash to the right with a floating stone-slate drip-band; the
1st floor has 2 similar 9-pane sashes. (All these sashes with
exposed boxes.) Gable chimneys with stone-slate bands.
Attached to right-hand gable is a restored lean-to peat-house.
Left gable wall has one small 6-pane window near front corner
of ground floor, and some through-stones. Rear wall, of 2 low
storeys, with through-stones on 2 levels and 2 windows on each
floor (9-pane sashes except upper left which is casement), all
renewed. INTERIOR: not inspected.
Forms group with barn approx. 10m west (qv).
