Pair of houses, now single dwelling. Early C17, refronted in
late C18; converted to one house in late C19; C20 extensions.
Timber frame with rendered and colourwashed brick facade;
pantile roof with rebuilt brick end stacks.
EXTERIOR: 2-storey 2-window front on moulded plinth continuous
with No.14 (qv) and No.20 (qv), both adjoining. Off-centre
panelled doors are separated by small casement. At each end
are original 5-light cross casements with ovolo-moulded
mullions beneath late C19 label-stopped hoodmoulds: two
similar original windows on first floor, without hoodmoulds.
Raised first floor band; saw-tooth eaves cornice. Rear:
scattered C19 and C20 casements.
INTERIOR: winder staircase by each stack. Wide inglenook
fireplace to left end. Bridging beams uniformly of
sunk-quadrant section, with jewelled tongue stops. Roof of
principals, clasped purlins and 2 tiers of butt purlins.
