Description

KEYNSHAM

ST6568 BATH HILL
739-1/4/9 (West side)
19/06/75 No.84
Lichfield Lodge

GV II

Attached house. Probably late C18 with early C19 facade.
Roughcast with smooth render dressings, ashlar copings,
pantile roof with ridge cresting and rendered end stacks.
PLAN: double-depth plan.
EXTERIOR: 2-storey; 3-window range. Symmetrical parapeted east
facade has window architraves linked by decorative bands of
render that imitate end pilasters, sill bands and platbands;
this creates a grid effect which ties the windows into the
facade. Windows are all plate-glass sashes with margin
glazing. Central projecting square porch with paired Doric
pilasters and dentil cornice; 6-panel door.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
HISTORICAL NOTE: probable early C19 refronting of an earlier
house.
