848-1/2/70 Cove House

II

Country house. Mid C19. Dressed freestone front range,
otherwise stucco on rubble; dry slate roofs; brick axial
stacks. Large U-shaped plan including rear service wings at
right angles to the front.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys; symmetrical 5-window front with central
Tuscan porte cochere with paired columns; modillion eaves
cornice. Possibly original horned sashes with plate glass;
plain fanlight over 6-panel door; flanking single lights.
3-storey service wings retain most of their original hornless
sashes with glazing bars.
INTERIOR: not inspected (except to note carved modillion
cornice to entrance hall) but likely to retain original
features of interest.
