Shop premises with domestic accommodation above. c1800. Stucco
on studwork to front; dry slate roof. Double-depth plan.
4-storeys; regular 4-window range with original windows and
rare shopfront of this date. Tripartite hornless sashes with
glazing bars to upper floors. Ground floor has full-width
moulded entablature over moulded consoled doorway with 8-panel
door and horizontal diamond-paned overlight, on the left, and
double shopfront with canted and slightly bowed windows (with
reduced number of glazing bars) in the form of oriels on the
right; central moulded shop doorway with later window.
INTERIOR: not inspected but likely to be as unaltered as the
exterior.
Part of a significant group of C17 and C18 houses. The early
C19 shopfront is a notable example of its type.
