Warehouse. 1809 datestone and inscription AG Werninck, Palace
Vaults. Plymouth limestone rubble with segmental stone arches
to openings; corrugated asbestos roof. Deep plan with gable
end onto the street.
4 storeys plus attic; symmetrical 2-window front above ground
floor with central loading doorways (now converted to
windows). Ground floor has C20 shopfront with large central
shop window with glazing bars and pilastered doorway on either
side; panelled doors. Left-hand return is a 10-window range; 3
ground-floor doorways and central loading doorways.
INTERIOR: remodelled 1970/80s.
New Street contains a high proportion of fine C17 and C18
houses and some fine warehouses.
