GV II

Villa in planned group of villas, now used as a place of
worship. Mid C19. Stucco with stucco detail; asbestos slate
hipped roof with low-pitched central gable; stuccoed end
stacks. Double-depth plan with probably 2 rooms at the front
and entrance hall behind central porch.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys; symmetrical 3-window front. Original
12-pane hornless sashes to ground floor; C20 windows to 1st
floor. Stucco detail includes: end pilasters; channelled
rustication to ground floor with rusticated voussoirs to
segmental window arches; mid-floor band and moulded sills on
balustered aprons to 1st floor. Pilastered porch has similar
balustrade to centre of parapet with simple entablature and
plain architrave to wide doorway with C20 pair of panelled
doors.
INTERIOR: not inspected but may be of interest.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: side garden walls return at the front as
a low coped stuccoed wall with square gate-piers with plinths
and squat pyramidal caps.
Part of a good group of mid C19 villas.
