GV II

House. Centre part c1700, wings mid-late C19. Brick,
pinkish-brown to left section, reddish-brown in English bond
to centre and red with yellow brick chequerwork in its headers
to right, coursed Cotswold stone rubble to left wing at rear,
stone tile roof to left wing otherwise renewed tile roof.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys, 3 first-floor windows with rear wing to
left. Entrance off-centre right a C20 porch with C20 glazed
door. Late C20 windows throughout. Ridge and end stacks, that
to right end renewed. The wing to left projects from a
2-low-storey gabled section slightly angled back from main
front with a 2-light casement window in gable.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
HISTORICAL NOTE: home of Cecil Day Lewis, Poet Laureate
1933-38.
