2 semi-detached villas, now house and flats and attached
railings to No.27. c1832. Stucco over brick with hipped slate
roof and tall brick roof and party-wall stacks. L-shaped on
plan, with slightly-recessed entrance bays to ends.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys on basement, 4 first-floor windows. Stucco
detailing includes plinth, end and centre pilasters with sunk
panels to each floor, first-floor band. 6/6 sashes throughout,
taller to ground floor, all in plain reveals and with sills.
Basement has 3/3 and 6/6 sashes. Right end entrance to No.27:
flight of 5 roll-edged steps to slightly-projecting porch with
pilasters with incised decoration, round arch and keystone,
within a 5-panel door (part glazed, the lower panel with
lozenge motif and fluted surround), fluted frieze and fanlight
with batwing-and-circle type glazing bars. Wide eaves. Rear:
has 6/6 sashes, that to staircase with radial glazing to head.
Left return to Ashford Road has 2+4 first-floor windows; range
at left breaks forwards. Similar pilasters to ends and tooled
first-floor band; 2/2 horizontal-pane and 1/1 round-arched
sashes with swept hoodmoulds; central entrance, flight of
steps to 6-flush and fielded panel door with sidelights and
overlight and pillared surround.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: basement has window guards with
embellished sticks. To sides of steps to No.27 an X-motif
balustrade.
HISTORICAL NOTE: Park Place was developed by 1832.
