2 semi-detached villas with attached boundary railings to left
and area railings to right. c1826-32. Stucco over brick with
hipped slate roof over main range and stucco central stack.
Double depth plan with abutting side hallways.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys on basements, 6 first-floor windows
(1:4:1), the end entrance bays set back. Stucco detailing
includes first-floor band, central pilaster with sunk panel.
6/6 sashes where original, taller to ground floor, all in
plain reveals and with sills. Venetian blind boxes remain to
left house. Basement has 3/6 sashes. Entrances: 5-panel
part-glazed doors (the upper panels raised and fielded, lower
panels flush) with dentil frieze and fanlights (that to left
with radial glazing bars) in pilastered surrounds with dentil
frieze. Wide eaves.
INTERIOR: noted as including original joinery, including
panelled shutters.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: Boundary railings to left side have
arrowhead bars and dogbars with urn finials. Area railings at
right have 3 levels of bars.
HISTORICAL NOTE: Park Place was developed by 1832.
Forms a group with and abuts Nos 20-30 (even) and Nos 36-40
(even) Park Place with No.8 Ashford Road (qqv).
