Pair of houses, now house and inn. c1820-34 with later
alterations. Stucco over brick with slate roof to No.17,
concealed to No.15; brick and stucco end stacks; wrought-iron
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys, 6 first-floor windows, 3 per house. House
to left has full-height parallel range to rear. Stucco
detailing includes crowning frieze to right, continuous
cornice and blocking course with copings (renewed at left).
First floor has, from left, 4 tall 6/6, tall 8/8 sash and tall
6/6 sash; second floor has three 3/3, 8/8, 6/6 and 8/8 sashes.
Ground floor has C20 rectangular bay windows to inn, otherwise
8/8 sashes. All windows in plain reveals and with sills.
Central entrances: c1980s glazed door to left; 6
flush-and-fielded-panel door with fanlight to right. Left
return has blind opening with tooled architrave.
INTERIOR: No.17 reputed to retain good features, especially
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: first floor has 6 balconies with
embellished rods and central scroll panels, lattice frieze.
