Shop and office premises. 1865. Ashlar faced with slate roof.
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys, 4-window range to Mawdsley Street, with
10 window return to Exchange Street. Italianate Palazzo style.
Ground floor arcaded with rusticated pilasters between flat
arched openings, with doorway in stone architrave giving
access to staircase to upper floors to left in Mawdsley Street
elevation, the shop front details between the pilasters in
other bays renewed. Upper floors divided into bays by
pilasters, with paired windows each side in Mawdsley Street
elevation, the windows grouped 2-4-4 to Exchange Street
return. Polished granite central shaft with foliate capitals
carrying segmentally arched windows, with stressed keystones.
Shallow stilted arched heads to second storey windows.
