Villa, now flats. 1826-7, possibly to designs of John Forbes. Stucco over brick with concealed roof and end stucco stacks. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys on basement and with attic storey, 3 first-floor windows. Double depth plan with central hallway and service range to rear. Central breakforward. Stucco detailing includes plinth surmounted by end Doric pilasters; central 3/4 engaged tetrastyle Composite porch with dentil and modillion entablature and blocking course surmounted by end Doric pilasters to breakforward; continuous architrave, frieze and cornice over first floor; second floor has pilaster strips to ends and to ends of breakforward, incorporated into crowning frieze and cornice with low parapet and copings. Ground and first floor windows have tooled architraves; outer bays have continuous first-floor sill band. Ground floor has 1/1 lugged sashes. First floor has 6/6 sashes. Attic storey has 3/3 sashes. Basement has 10/10 sashes. All windows in plain reveals and with sills. Flight of renewed roll-edged steps to central entrance, double 6-panel doors with overlight with margin-lights. INTERIOR: not inspected. HISTORICAL NOTE: built as part of the development of this area undertaken for Joseph Pitt in 1825-42, the general layout being designed by the architect John Forbes.
