Stables and gardener's flat, now house. 1902. By Walter Aston
For Richard Harding Watt. Render over brick with rough stone
dressings and pantiled roof. Edwardian Free style. Rectilinear
plan, with gable facing street.
2-storeyed with 3-storeyed tower surmounted by cupola. Present
entrance in gable facing street, former stable entry in north
elevation. Door with margin lights to left of gable facing
street, 3-light wood mullioned window with latticed panes and
boarded apron immediately below eaves. Tower to right, with
narrow windows with heavy blockwork lintels and some transoms.
High steeped parapet and domed cupola.
North elevation has 2 wide segmentally-arched openings to
ground floor, originally the stable entrances. Continuous band
of windows with boarded aprons alternating with solid panels
above. East gable has timber-framing between the stone angle
piers.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
One of a remarkable series of buildings erected in Legh Road
