Japanese lantern at south end of The Wild Garden

GV
II

Garden lantern. C19 or early-C20. Stone. Carved in the Japanese manner, having: plinth; short column with annular mouldings; polygonal lantern with small openings and relief carvings; and swept roof with onion-like finial.

One of three such lanterns positioned at the centre and at either end of the Wild Garden.

An interesting garden feature which has strong group value with other listed items in this important garden design.
