House, now two shops with flats over. Believed to have mid C16
timber-frame origins with later additions and alterations
including brick re-fronting in early/mid C18, mid C19 shop
front; sub-divided into 2 shops and flats c1988. Painted brick
under plain clay tile roof. South gable-end stack to rear roof
slope. Painted stone sills and shop front. L-shaped plan,
'cat-slide' roof to rear right forming additional room on
first- and second-floor. Staircases renewed and re-positioned
c1988.
Three storeys. Four first-floor windows, 6/6 sashes in
near-flush frames under cambered brick arches with sills,
similar openings to second-floor with paired side-hung
casements. Projecting brick band over first-floor window
heads.
Shop-front has dentilled cornice with moulded console brackets
forming terminations to ends and to central door opening;
moulded pier caps with roundel incorporating floral motif;
similar roundels to shop fascia.
