Two houses, now offices. Probably late C18 with later additions
and alterations including those of mid C19. Reddish-brown brick
in Flemish bond with hipped slate roof, brick stacks, party-wall
stack to ridge and further stack to rear at left, both with
oversailing courses and pots; stuccoed sills. T-plan with infil
to rear at right; left house has hallway at right, house to right
has central hallway.
2 storeys, +5 first-floor windows. 6/6 flush-frame,
cambered-arched sashes throughout, the fourth window from left
now blocked, all under cambered arches and with sills. Continuous
dentil cornice over first floor, returning to left. Entrances:
6-raised-and-fielded-panel doors with fanlights (fanlight to
right is blind), timber doorcases ave round-arched openings and
open pediments on console brackets. Rear retains 8/8 and 6/6
sashes where original, tripartite window with 6/6 between 2/2
sashes to rear range, 4 blocked elliptically-arched openings.
INTERIOR: retains original joinery including 4-panel doors;
chamfered spine beam.
Occupies an important site at the junction of Malvern Road and
Bransford Road.
Forms a group with No.1 Malvern Road (qv).
