Lodge to Allanbay Park (qv). Mid C19 with C20 extensions.
MATERIALS: Red brick with diamond patterns of blue headers;
stone quoins. Tile roof with several gabled ends.
PLAN: L-plan formerly, now irregular with extensions on north,
east and south.
STYLE: original lodge is in Tudor style, the extensions are in
matching style.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys and one storey. 3 groups of 2 and 3
conjoined diagonal chimney shafts with offset heads. Stone
plinth, exposed rafter ends. 2 and 3-light C19 and C20
casement windows with glazing bars. Road (west) front: former
lodge has single bay gable on left with 2-light window on
first floor in chamfered reveal, 5-light canted bay under.
Right hand section set back with single bay of rendered,
blocked openings. Entrance in internal angle: 2 steps to door
in chamfered reveal under 4-centred brick arch with stone key,
protected by lean-to, tiled, enclosed porch. Single storey
extensions slightly set back on left. 2 storey single bay
extension set right back on right.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
