House. Late C18, extended c1900, restored 1986-87.
MATERIALS: small section timber frame with brick infill,
encased in painted render, old tile hipped roof with wide
overhanging eaves.
PLAN: L-plan, main section 2-cell central staircase plan,
service wing at rear with extension in internal angle.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys and cellar. 3 corniced chimneys with
shaped aprons under cornice, and clay pots. Kitchen chimney at
rear has very large semi-circular base which houses bread
oven. Sash windows with glazing bars, in flush moulded,
architrave frames. Entrance (south) front: symmetrical.
3-bays. Central, 4-panel flush door under later, tiled gabled,
trellis porch.
INTERIOR: little altered with original features intact,
4-panel doors with moulded architraves, panelled window
shutters. Cast iron fireplaces with wood surrounds and
decorative tile insets. Moulded dado rail and semicircular
niche in living room. Straight flight staircase with stick
balusters and wreathed handrail, closed string.
