GV II

Hall house, now house. Early C15, altered and extended C16 and
late C18.
MATERIALS: part timber frame with brick infill, part brick in
Flemish bond. Old tile gabled roof.
PLAN: originally rectangular plan of 3 framed bays, now
T-plan.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys. 2 chimneys with cornice heads. C19
casement windows with glazed bars. Entrance (south) front: 3
bays. Right hand bay projects in form of gable with 2-light
casement windows, ground floor and first floor. Left hand
section has 2-light and 3-light window on first floor, large
4-light window on ground floor, and C20 glazed door on right
in enclosed, gabled, C20 porch. Windows on ground floor have
segmental arched heads. Right hand return has timber frame
exposed with irregular fenestration between framing.
INTERIOR: some timber frame exposed. Jowled post, large tie
beams on first floor with redundant crown post roof trusses.
Centre truss has large curved brackets springing from posts on
both floors. C18-C19 wall panelling on first floor. Old plank
floors.
