Formerly known as: St Ronans FOREST ROAD.
Large house. Early C18, mostly rebuilt early C19, altered C20.
MATERIALS: Red brick in Flemish bond, hipped old tile roof
over earlier part, slate roof with Dutch gable ends on later
part.
PLAN: Plan now irregular.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys, basement and attic with rendered plinth,
rendered band at spring of ground floor arches and dentilled
cornice to Dutch gables. 2 chimneys with corniced heads and
clay pots, single flat roof dormer at rear and side. Sash
windows with glazing bars and rubbed brick arched heads.
Entrance (east) front: 3 bay earlier section with single bay
extension with Dutch gable on left. 2 windows on ground floor
have stuccoed fans in elliptical arched heads, 3rd window with
similar head has been covered by C20 glazed porch forming
entrance approached by 4 stone steps. All windows except
tripartite window on the ground floor have external louvred
shutters.
INTERIOR: early C19 dog-leg staircase with stick balusters and
a mop handrail.
