Tollhouse. Dated 1843, but said to have been re-erected on this site in 1864. Granite rubble with granite dressings. slate roof with stone-coped gable ends. Very large granite rubble lateral stacks with set-offs and square yellow clay pots.
PLAN: T-shaped on plan with entrance porch in the angle.
Tudor Gothic style.
EXTERIOR: 1 storey. North front has projecting gable-ended wing to right with 2-light granite mullion window, gabled porch in the angle to the left with a chamfered 4-centred arch doorway with a stone tablet above inscribed 1843 and a large lateral stack in the angle on the right. the east and west gable ends also have 2-light granite mullion window frames and at rear [south] there is another large lateral stack and a C20 lean-to outshut.
INTERIOR not inspected.
NOTE: This tollhouse is said to have been re-erected on this site in 1864 after having been moved to make way for an embankment.
