House. Mid/late C18 with C20 additions.
MATERIALS: High limestone ashlar plinth and rear, incised render to first floor front and right return, slate roofs with stone ridges and moulded ridge stack to right of centre.
PLAN: L-plan with hip roofed single depth range facing Queen's Parade Place and square plan three storey pavilion roofed block to rear left.
EXTERIOR: Two storeys, three-window front. Coped parapet and cornice returned to right, plinth, stepped down to right, has two horizontal slit windows flanking fixed four-pane window. Painted raised freestone surrounds to six/six-pane sash windows with forward frames to first floor front and one similar window to right return of that block. Corner rounded for approx 2m above pavement. Rear has ground floor platband, blind window to first floor left-of-centre over horned three/three-pane sash with C20 grille, to first floor right six/six-pane sash window with balconette over horned eight/eight-pane sash and C20 grille, to right-of-centre blocked door. Three storey single window block at right angle and forms courtyard/car park. Eight/eight-pane sash to second floor, six/six-pane sash to first floor, slightly higher ground floor platband and two C20 windows to ground floor. Right hand part of ground floor has two engaged Tuscan columns probably formerly flanking open portico.
INTERIOR: Not inspected.
HISTORY: The building is probably a remodelling of a garden house originally erected behind No 21 Queen Square.
