Pair of houses to rear of No.18 London Street (qv). Late C18.
MATERIALS: Limestone rubble with freestone dressings, steeply pitched double Roman tile mansard roof with truncated stacks to coped party wall.
EXTERIOR: Two storeys and basements. No.4 to right two-window range. No.5 has single window range. Windows and doors blocked except for six/six-pane sash window to first floor left of No.4. Houses unoccupied.
INTERIOR: Not inspected.
HISTORY: Buildings of this type, once common in the city, are now rare survivals and represent the merging of urban with vernacular building types.
