House, now shop. Extends at rear to No.3 Walcot Street (qv). Late C18, mid C19 and late C19 shop.
MATERIALS: Limestone ashlar, double Roman tile roof with dormers and moulded stacks to party walls.
PLAN: Double depth.
EXTERIOR: Three storeys and attic, two window front. Coped parapet, stopped dentil cornice, second floor sill band, six/six pane sash windows with some crown glass. No.39, late C19 shop, has panelled pilasters, scrolled consoles and cornice to fascia over two pane shop window and set back door with overlight. No.40 mid C19 shop to right is narrower with pendants to elaborate cornice and fascia flanked by fluted scrolled consoles. Below fascia another fascia with scrolled consoles to lower shop window that cants back.
