Detached house. c1820.
MATERIALS: Limestone ashlar, roof unseen, moulded stacks to coped gable ends.
PLAN: Double depth plan.
EXTERIOR: Three storeys (including attic storey) and lower ground floor, with later two storey recessed one-window wide left wing. Main block three windows wide, symmetrical; slightly recessed angles; low coped parapet and attic cornice, second floor cornice, cornices on consoles to ground floor windows, balconettes and painted splayed reveals to sash windows, six/six-panes without horns to upper floors, enlarged late C19 plate glass ground floor windows. Windows to left wing have horns. Steps up to prostyle Doric porch with fluted columns, entablature and blocking course, vertical panels to double doors and margin panes to inverted fan in overlight. To right single storey, stone-fronted garage.
INTERIOR: Not inspected.
HISTORY: Part of this highly characteristic Regency suburban development, showing the influence of the Greek Revival on Bath's domestic architecture. This detached house is a particularly clear example of this tendency.
