A short row of three houses with shops at each end, facing London Road, with a right return continued as terrace comprising Nos.1-4 Weymouth Street (qv). Late C18 with C19 alterations.
MATERIALS: Limestone ashlar hipped slate mansard roof with paired raking dormers and moulded stacks to party walls.
PLAN: Double depth plans.
EXTERIOR: Three storeys and attics, each house has two-window front with paired plate glass sash windows. No.27 to right; late C19 corner shop with half-glazed door to angle with three panels to base and overlight, colonnettes with moulded heads to three plate glass panes to left hand shop window, two panes to right return and moulded fascia to both facades. No.28 to centre has door and overlight to left. No.29 to left narrower with narrower windows, those to first floor have shared trellised balconette. Altered early C19 shopfront stepped slightly forward with lead-roofed canopy extending over fascia, to left-of-centre six-panel door and overlight with moulded sills to one plate glass window to left and three to right, all with two panes.
INTERIORS: Not inspected.
HISTORY: This row, along with Weymouth Street, is shown on Harcourt Masters's plan of Bath, 1793, and forms part of the arterial development of mid-Georgian Bath.
