House in row, with shop below. Mid C18.
MATERIALS: Limestone ashlar, slate roof.
EXTERIOR: Three storeys and attic, three windows, two plain sash dormers above twelve-pane sash in raised plat surrounds at each level, and 1987 shopfront by Arnold Root, sporting wine glass capitals to narrow pilasters. Windows to upper floors were without glazing bars when formerly listed in the mid-1970s. Panelled door to right, under No.25 (qv) numbered No.24, giving to side entry. Moulded cornice and high blocking course with moulded parapet. Mansard roof, hipped to right, coped, with stack, left.
INTERIOR: Not inspected; ground floor, in use as a wine merchants, is much altered. The fenestration and heavy cornice echo the early C18 houses on the opposite side of the street. This site, on one of the main streets within the walled town, has a long building history.
