Gate piers and boundary walls to No.29

GV II

Two pairs of gatepiers, boundary walls. c1840 . Ashlar. Opposite main entrance pair of large square piers with base, frieze-band and moulded capitals to high square blocking, and similar pair, of same height but smaller girth, to left. Between these and extending full width of site, continuing to No.28 (qv) adjacent, wall in large ashlar block to coping, including 2 swept steps, following slope in road. Important adjuncts to house, and contributing to street scene with adjacent walls.
